Why Forge Volleyball Academy?

Forge Volleyball Academy was built on the competitive nature of our directors. We will provide all the tools necessary for your athlete to succeed off the court, and on the court. At Forge Volleyball Academy we believe every athlete can be great with hard work, dedication, and willingness to learn. 

We also believe a successful club = an exceptionally managed club. Forge was founded by two individuals with immense experience in management and operations. Our directors are always available for open communication, questions and concerns. 

How many players and coaches are assigned to a team?

Players on each team are determined by tryout numbers, available coaches and coaches preferences for team rosters. Expect 10 - 12 athletes per team. There will be two coaches per team. 

Where and when are practices?

 You can expect practice locations to be in the Portland Metro area. Exact locations and times will be determined by our directors prior to the start of the season with ample communication. Please review team homepages for updated calendar information. 

Will everyone get equal playing time?

No, volleyball is a rotational sport where each player may not be on the court equally. We believe in putting players in their most impactful position while keeping the team's success as our main goal. 

Who are the coaches?

Our directors will be coaching up to two teams each season. Our coaches are interviewed and selected by our club directors. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and hard working coaches that want to make a difference in the volleyball community. 

Is travel included in club dues?

Parent and player travel is not included in the club dues. We believe you should have the freedom to chose your travel that fits your budget. We have found booking your own travel saves on yearly costs. Specific hotels may have to be booked for stay and play tournaments.  We do encourage staying nearby or in the same hotel as others to allow for downtime activities, team dinners, bonding etc.

Why is there a deposit required due at signing?

A deposit is required at tryouts to cover the initial costs of the season. Those costs include team uniforms, equipment, gym rentals, and tournament fees. CEVA and USAV mewmberships are not included and must be paid by you.

Does everyone make a team? 

No. We believe in keeping Forge Volleyball Acedemy intentionally small to better serve you as directors and coaches. We would like to maintain a competitive club that develops athletes in all aspects of the game. We are also limited due to the number of coaches we have on staff.  

Are parents required to travel with their athlete?

No.  Parents are not required to travel with their athlete, however each athlete shall be assigned a chaperone upon traveling. Chaperone's include those who you trust to look after your athlete. A coach/director can be assigned if needed. 

Will there be video and or livestream of games?
Yes, all games will be recorded and saved. Games may also be livestreamed via Facebook, Twitch, Youtube, etc.
